Ghan House - Carlingford

Cute staff, lovely breakfast, but Wi-Fi was spotty at times.

Gorgeous rooms with a great modern bathroom with an excellent shower and the bar plus a bath tub, always welcoming and pleasant staff.

the location was stunning - close enough to a quiet garden with wonderful views, the restaurant, and bars, restaurants, castle and marina. spent our evenings in nearby pj o'hares enjoying drinks and atmosphere.

The staff was sad.

The culinary experience was improved with the lively musical event.

The check-in process felt a bit laconic, lacking the cute charm I expected.

The gardens were beautifully landscaped. Our double room was tastefully decorated. Breakfast featured a good selection of locally sourced ingredients, which impressed us. The mountain view from our room added a picturesque element that enhanced our experience.

We had a grand stay in this cozy spot, the views were breathtaking, and the food was top-notch! The only hiccup was a chilly room that didn’t quite warm up. All in all, it was a mighty relaxing getaway!

The vintage-style bathrooms, complete with luxurious toiletries, added a unique touch to our experience. One small improvement could be ensuring the bathwater is heated adequately for those long, relaxing soaks.

The staff were great. We enjoyed a awesome breakfast with plenty of local options. The gardens had fine views. My family particularly loved the spacious double room equipped with great facilities, including a large TV and a cozy ambiance. The nearby mountain view created a perfect backdrop for our stay.

I spent two nights in a double room with my partner. The dinner was excellent, and I appreciated how the staff accommodated my food allergies without fuss. Ghan House is a treasure! The luxurious room we had featured a canopy bed and a fine claw roll top bath with views over the water. Dinner, prepared by the French chef, was an absolute delight. Every course showcased exquisite flavors. Breakfast the next morning was equally excellent, especially the homemade wheaten bread and jams. I appreciated how extensive the information about local attractions was. The coffee at breakfast could have used a bit more pep to kick start the day. We also found the dining atmosphere a bit quiet at breakfast. A little music playing would have helped lighten the mood. Ghan House offers a cozy, inviting experience that draws you back with its charm, but a few simple tweaks like coffee quality and ambiance could enhance it further.

The heating was an issue. The room felt cold at times. Breakfast was served in a chilly ballroom-despite the beautiful decor, the ambiance lacked warmth. The coffee at breakfast could do with a bit more strength, and the continental offerings felt limited. Noise from nearby guests at night disrupted sleep, and there was a lack of staff during busy dining periods, which impacted service. It was also noticeable that some menu items were poorly presented and didn't quite match the high expectations set by the dinner the night before.

loved our longer stay in carlingford. ghan house exceeded expectations with friendly staff, beautiful bathroom, and relaxed breakfast experience. can't wait to come back!
